The plaintiff was traveling in a westerly direction on Route 80 when another vehicle traveling in an easterly direction crossed the center dividing area and came into the west bound lanes striking his vehicle in a virtual head on collision. As a result of the accident, the plaintiff sustained an avulsion fracture of the left of the left transverse process of C-6 and non-displaced fractures of the 6th, 7th and 8th ribs laterally. He also sustained displaced fractures of the left 11th and 12th ribs posteriorly and a collapsed lung. He lost consciousness with a concussion and also sustained a lumber disc herniation.
