Mr. Wechsler will serve a one year term as President of the Foundation. He will then serve a one year term as President Elect of the Morris County Bar Association prior to his elevation to the Office of President of the Morris County Bar Association in January, 2013.
The Morris County Bar Foundation, established in 1990, is the charitable affiliate of the Morris County Bar Association. The Foundation applies financial resources to foster and maintain the honor and integrity of the profession of law; help improve and facilitate the administration of justice; improve relations among lawyers, the judiciary and the public; promote the study of law and research, the establishment of grants and scholarships, publishing, and other charitable, scientific, literary and educational endeavors, to benefit the Morris County Bar Association.
Mr. Wechsler has a long-standing reputation for leadership and distinguished service in the legal community. For the past seven years [2005 – 2011] Mr. Wechsler has been listed in NJ Monthly Magazine’s Annual Super Lawyers edition. He is also rated “AV Preeminent” by Martindale Hubbell, a prestigious directory of legal professionals. Martindale Hubbell’s AV rating is defined by the publishers as the "Highest Possible Rating in Both Legal Ability and Ethical Standards."
Mr. Wechsler was also named to Ten Leaders in the Matrimonial and Divorce Law group, northern New Jersey. Ten Leaders, founded in 2002, recognizes preeminent practitioners in specified practice areas as "credible and compelling representations of true leaders in their respective fields. For professionals with established practices and a record of accomplishment, it is a privilege to be included in a group."
Mark Wechsler joined the firm of Einhorn Harris in 1997. He litigated one of the lead cases in New Jersey on the issue of international jurisdiction in child custody disputes [Poluhovich v Pellerano, 373 N.J. Super 310 (App.Div. 2004)]. Mr. Wechsler is board certified by the Supreme Court of New Jersey as a matrimonial law attorney. He served as a trustee of the Morris County Bar Association as well as chairman of its Family Law Committee from 2006 - 2008. He serves as a Blue Ribbon Panelist for the Early Settlement Panel Program in Morris County. He is also a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association and its Family Law Section. Mr. Wechsler has lectured on behalf of the Institute for Continuing Legal Education [ICLE] and also provides pro bono services to and lectures for The Women's Center at the County College of Morris. He received his B.A. from the State University of New York at Albany; his M.A. from the John Jay College of Criminal Justice; and his J.D. from the Widener University School of Law. Mr. Wechsler devotes his practice to all aspects of family law including but not limited to matrimonial, divorce, custody and domestic violence.
