Jason R. Rittie is a Partner with the Firm, and concentrates in several areas of law. He has extensive experience in complex real estate transactions, particularly in acquisitions, leasing and sale of commercial and residential properties. Mr. Rittie represents borrowers, private lenders and banks in commercial and residential finance and mortgage transactions. Mr. Rittie also represents property owners and developers in all aspects of land use and zoning, and has appeared before planning and zoning boards throughout Northern New Jersey for site plans, subdivisions and variances for commercial and residential properties. He has repesented clients in real estate-related litigation in many New Jersey Courts, handling cases such as landlord/tenant evictions, breach of contract, construction agreements, partition actions, title disputes and zoning litigation.
Mr. Rittie is also a member of the Firm's Closely-held Business Group, which focuses on the unique needs of privately held business entities of all sizes, and he has acted as general counsel to individuals and their privately held businesses. Mr. Rittie has assisted many business clients in the proper formation of corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships and, at times, has guided businesses through dissolution or litigation to separate business partners. Mr. Rittie works together with the other skilled attorneys in the firm to plan for business succession, in tax matters, and the buying and selling of businesses. On behalf of his business clients, he has also appeared in numerous business litigation and commercial lawsuits involving the enforcement or breach of contracts, and for the protection of rights of shareholders, members or partners in a business relationship.
Mr. Rittie is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Morris County Bar Association and Sussex County Bar Association. He is also active in the Morris County and Sussex County Chambers of Commerce. Mr. Rittie is involved in the community by volunteering as a Planning Board Member for the Township of Green, and he is a Member for the Heritage Community Bank Business Development Advisory Board.
