Divorce and Other Family Law Issues

There are many legal issues that must be resolved when a couple decides to divorce. If there are children from the marriage, there will be issues of child custody, child support and visitation. The parties must allocate debts and divide marital assets. In all of the disputes and feelings of animosity, allegations of domestic abuse may arise. • Move away/out of state: Occasionally, there is a need for a parent to move a significant distance from the other parent for employment, financial or other personal reasons. It is important for parents to consider how the move will affect the child — whether it means moving with the child away from the non-custodial parent or moving away from the child (as a non-custodial parent).
